China is moving so rapidly into leadership positions in clean energy and ev's, it's bewildering. It's sad to see America falling into second place so rapidly on so many fronts but what China is doing is good for the environment so one has to content themselves with that, I suppose.

Thank you so much for some much needed positive Climate news!

Are you familiar with The Citizens' Climate Lobby(CCL)? It's a grassroots organization working towards passing legislation to fight climate crises. If you haven't heard of it, I urge you to look into it. No fees or commitments, it's a very worthy cause, many very dedicated individuals involved!

What are they going to do with all those worn out solar panels in the years ahead? Can they be recycled at the scale they have been installed? Currently >90% of panels end up in landfills.

Loved reading about rhinos and tigers successes. Thanks.

Thank you!

This article helps provide context on the end-of-life of solar panels: https://insideclimatenews.org/news/12102023/inside-clean-energy-reality-check-solar-panel-waste/

"The coming surge in photovoltaic panel waste is tiny compared to other categories, and most health concerns about solar equipment are unfounded."

Coal ash produces orders of magnitude more waste and is far more toxic, for example.

“China is installing the wind and solar equivalent of five large nuclear power stations per week.”

Do you know if this claim is based upon the actual energy produced or upon what I would call the nameplate rating? For example, won’t a 1 gigawatt nuclear power plant produce a lot more energy than a 1 gigawatt solar farm because the nuclear plant operates 24/7 while the solar farm only produces electricity when the sun is shining? Thanks.
