A fascinating interview here - and one that I have banked today in my personal catalogue of reference projects for future research/writing/teaching on the frontiers of ecology and tech!
Not very! This is a species that we drove extinct with 1800s-early 1900s level technology. If they ever become numerous enough to be a serious crop pest (which would be a sign of great success for the project!) we could just set a hunting season. Also, crop protection measures have advanced a lot in the last hundred years.
Wow indeed Sam .
I am in awe of the passion and brilliance of scientists like Ben!
Fascinating story about the Passenger Pigeon .
Lovely to hear about the success of the Pink Pigeon of Mauritius ( my dad was born there 😊)
Thanks for finding these wonderful subjects of hope and positivity !!
Thank you so much!
