The Weekly Anthropocene is going to India!

Hi,
I’m Sam Matey, and this newsletter has been a labor of love for me since October 2017 (here’s the old archive). I’m writing to tell you that The Weekly Anthropocene is going to India this upcoming May - within a few days, I’ll have started a journey reporting on some of the amazing climate and biodiversity progress work being done on this extraordinary subcontinent!
There’s a huge amount of fascinating work being done in India (the world’s largest country now!) to try to build a good Anthropocene for humanity and its biosphere, and I’d like to write about as much of it as I can! I’m essentially trying to pull off a low-budget single-person “foreign correspondent”-style reporting trip here; my main focus through the trip will be researching and writing for The Weekly Anthropocene. I’ll be starting in Mumbai, and we’ll see where it goes from there!
I’m flying to India on May 1st, and I’m really excited about the people I’ll meet there and the field reporting I’ll be able to do! I’ll be paywalling most to all of my writing from India in the hope of catalyzing more paid subscribers. If you’d like to contribute to making this reporting trip happen, feel free to upgrade to paid and follow my progress!
All my “live” writing during May and early June will likely be dispatches from India, with a few “encore” reposts of previous articles sprinkled in. Regular weekly news roundups will resume in mid-June!
Thank you so much,
Sam
New follower and subscriber! Excited to see what unfolds and how you share. I will be traveling to Uganda for the fourth time in a few short weeks and look to replicate your methodology for sharing.
Safe travels, Sam! I enjoy your writing and am sure I’ll feel as if I had been there when I get to read your descriptive accounts. 😊
